Why should I choose this tour?

During this trip we will visit Delphi, ancient temples, the site of Dionysus’ greatest celebration, Corikion cave, the cave of Pan. Next station will be Meteora, one of the most impressive and popular monuments in Greece. Monasteries are strikingly hanging on the rocks making you feel the magic, the awe and the admiration for this landscape. After Meteora, we continue to Thermopylae, the most popular battle site in Greece. It will be an experience you will always remember.

What are we going to do:

We will start from the center of Athens and take about 2 hours to reach the Delphi oracle. On our way, we will pass important points of interest: Battlefield of Plataea and Marathon, the place where Oedipus met and killed his father, according to legend and great ancient cities such as Thebes and Thespies. After our visit to the archaeological site of Delphi and the museum, we will eat at an amazing restaurant in the village of Delphi, overlooking the Delphi valley and their ancient harbor. Afterwards we will head higher up Mount Parnassos (1350 meters) and pass through beautiful mountain peaks. Going down the other side of the mountain, we will visit the ancient city of Lilia, where the source of the river Kifissos (one of the two rivers of ancient Athens) is located. There are also 2 ancient temples (Apollo and Artemis), and there are also strange signs of the Knight Templars. We will spend the night in this small, beautiful village.

Next day we will start, again, around 08:00, for Thermopylae and Meteora. Our first stop, after 30 minutes, will be the battlefield of the 300 Spartans and King Leonidas against the Persians, at Thermopylae. The place that took place one of the most important battles in World History. At Meteora we will visit at least 2 – 3 monasteries (Great Meteora and Agios Stefanos included). Then we will visit the village Castraki, under Meteora rocks, and we will have lunch there. After that, we will take the road back to Athens.
